Slight modification to network adapter is needed. Unscrew silver backplate, use a T7 Torx bit to unscrew the smaller connector. This will allow greater movement (and a greater separation between the two connectors) to accomidate the WD connectors. Other than this, the drive works great with 187 GB available storage for backups. ALL Western Digital drives will require the small mod to the network adapter, however for the price and volume of storage, the 10 minutes to do so was well worth it. |

Oh, one more thing - drive will not be recognized if jumper is set to "master" i simply removed the jumper altogether, and have no problems. Additionally, the drive is a tad loose in the bay, but will not come free of connectors. I travel with my PS2 to friends' houses, etc... a few strips of cardboard will go a long way to solve that issue. |

So Rather then placing the jumper in the center set of pins you removed it all together and the HD was recognized?

if you read and understand the drive jumper settings (on the disk label) you will see that for master settings there is no jumper nedded.
You only need one jumper if the drive is to operate in slave mode or in master mode WHEN a slave is present. Otherwise (e.g. when in single disk environment sytems = ps2) you will have to remove any jumper the drive come with. |
