Had to coerce the drive into fitting by "removing" parts of the plastic that separated the power plug, jumper bay and ide plug. On the hard disk of course.
Jumper had to be set to Cable Select.
On firsf boot HDloader reported that the formatting failed, but the second time the hard drive was ready for use, and fully functional (don't ask how, it just was).
Succeded in installing, and playing 2 different games so far from HD. Although the size and crappy file system allow only enough space for 1 full dvd game at a time.
Low noise level, almost no heat.
Transfer speeds begin at 600 Kb/s and during install gradually rise to 1600 Kb/s.
Installation time averages 20 minutes, 30 at most.
Performance is excellent, but my only point of comparison is the PS2 dvd reader unit, so its not saying much. |
