As ever because this is a Western Digital you'll have to carefully modify the adapter in some way to allow the connectors to fit. In my case I simply removed the metal shield and carefully connected the drive.
The power molex doesn't fit 100% straight but the adapter screws in flush with the case, and the drive powered up/formatted as soon as I launched HDLoader. I then used HDL Dump GUI v15 to transfer some games across the network. Massively improved loading times, as expected.
Might be quicker to plug the PS2 formatted drive directly into your PC and use HDL Dump that way (only getting ~2mb/s via DVD drive or ISO file) but since the drive is already fitted and I'm in no rush I'll leave it. |
