| Hard drive's SMART data is surprisingly okay after all these years, and the condition it was shipped in. I just got this today (February 4th, 2021). Drive was ~25 CAD. ExcelStor left the hard drive industry around a decade ago. No pre-failure conditions as of writing. Currently doing a low-level format on my Windows 10 PC. Drive appears to generate large amounts of heat in an enclosed space, regularly hitting 45C inside of my PS2 during heavy loads. Does well with a fan below it..well...the PS2 doesn't have space for that. Hopefully this doesn't have a heat death. |
