Works Great! Only 137GB is recognized. Formatted really quick. Fast loading times and quiet drive....way better than 120GB. |

If only 137G is recognized, are you still able to utilize the remaining space on the drive (without seeing the space avail) ?

Intel has a work around for this but not as good as getting your system to recognize the drive correctly. Do a google search for Intel Application accelarator. I think thats what its called... Also included with your maxtor drive is a program that is called Dynamic
Drive Overlay used in conjunction with a cylinder limitation jumper can be used. But that is sort of the last resort because it limits each drive letter to 32GB.
So goto your manufacturer web site and look for a BIOS upgrade/flash. Read warnings about flashing the bios, not without its risks.
Get the latest windows (if you are using windows) service pak/updates, and goto intel to get the Application Accelarator program. Install them all,
All this should be in the manual that came with your hard drive. Use the maxtor included Max Blaster cd to partition your drive, etcetera...
Last resort use the cylinder limiter and Dynamic Drive overlay. But the Bios upgrade would be the first thing, I had to do. But its still important to install the Intel application accelarator and windows updates.
